Hi, I can see that you are interested in metal detecting or you wouldn’t be reading this. My name is Barry Shultz and I love metal detecting. I am so jazzed that you are reading my blog because this means that we share the same interest. I have been metal detecting for over 30 years and I found some things that are common and things that are very valuable.
I was born and raised in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, a relatively small suburb west of Philadelphia. When I married my wife I moved to Reading Pa where we conceived a boy named Kirk. After our internet career took off we decided that we wanted to move closer to the ocean so we moved to Dover, Delaware.
Delaware is a treasure trove of metal detecting sites. It is the first state you know. The old parks are great for hunting and I love the beaches. I mostly enjoy hunting the beaches because they are so easy. Much easier than digging up dirt. I can uncover a 6 inch target in the sand in about 30 seconds but digging in the dirt it can easily take 5 minutes.
I am in the process of selling my house in Dover so we can move closer to the bay and the ocean in Rehoboth Beach. That is a great tourist attraction here and in the summer months millions of people flock to our beaches and lose money and jewelry by the truckloads. I love to be there to recover it but from where I live now in Dover, it’s an hour drive to the beach and not so easy to do on a regular basis. As soon as this house sells I will move into our new home that we have put a bid on that is 2 minutes away from the bay and 10 minutes away from the ocean.
I can’t wait to move and I will update this page as soon as I do.
Again, welcome to my blog and I hope you find something useful here.
Barry
